3.President’s report
Sewer Plant
We are still getting garbage down our sewer lines to the plant. If this problem continues, we will be forced to install very expensive equipment and this cost will be paid by each of us. We have included in this mailing another copy of our notice. Plus, a member of the Board may go door-to-door with these notices to get the word out to everyone. Please be a responsible member in this community and do not put anything down our sewer lines except toilet paper.
New water line
A new water supply line was installed from the main water line under the street to Hale’s new water meter. Cost: $2458 (non-budget expenditure)
Water line repair work at sewer plant
Low pressure readings at sewer plant resulted in digging up & replacing broken line to the water meter from main water line under the road – cost: $958 (also non-budget expenditure)
Speeding in the community
Please remember our speed limit is 10 MPH and remind your guests.
Unleashed dogs running loose
We still have issues with running, unattended, unleashed dogs. Leash requirement is a Pierce County ordinance and a Taylor Bay policy.
Yard maintenance
Please maintain your yards, including easements along our roads. Please cut back on any vegetation that is encroaching upon neighbors or blocking our road

5.Old Business
Beach Repairs update
We are getting another quote from Island Rock to use helical anchors vs. ecology blocks in holding the soft-armoring on the beach. This quote will be compared to the first one using the concrete blocks. Start date: to be determined
Road Repairs Fund
We are still collecting funds for future road repairs. Nothing is scheduled for this year. However, a failed patch has been noticed on 177th and Northern Asphalt will be contacted.
Water meters installation & readings by 2017
We are researching what kind of meters are required or if what we have already will work for compliance.
Monthly Water blow-offs
Please be sure to flush your water lines after the monthly blowoffs. This will help in curtailing mineral buildup in your lines and assist with your water pressure.
Fireworks – 4th of July
We ask that all fireworks be lit down at the beach only. We don’t want any fires and the excessive noise disturbs a lot of dogs and sleeping neighbors.
PLEASE DO NOT CALL A BOARD MEMBER if you have a complaint in regards to hearing fireworks.
Water Tank Overflow Pipe
A screen is needed on water tank overflow pipe going into ditch. In progress, still.
6. New business
Backflow preventer valves (check valve)
Notice to all neighbors: those of you who have pressure pumps installed and/or sprinkler systems installed are required by law to have backflow preventer valves on your system. This prevents contaminated water from back flowing into our main potable water lines.
If you need assistance with this, please contact the Board.
Weir screen replacement in sewer tank
This is a necessary expense and will not be inexpensive. We are awaiting a quote for this work to be done. It will entail draining down our tank to a level under the bolts of the existing weir, holding that level for 8-10 hrs while replacing with the new weir. We will need to pump out the sludge storage tank prior to this repair and perhaps have a pump truck on call. As of this meeting, we are planning on replacing sometime in September, after the summer heavy usage.
Plumber/electrician needed @ sewer plant
We need final installation of an air gap and back flow preventers in-line with the blowers.
We will need to hire an electrician and a plumber.
****A member present at the meeting suggested it might be time for another Special Assessment in order to pay for unexpected sewer expenses. This will be taken into consideration.****
Replace rotting street sign posts/signs
We will be replacing street sign posts that have rotted and replace weathered, deteriorating numbered reflective street signs.
New sign down at the beach
A sign will be ordered and installed at the beach where Greetham property begins. (north end)
This sign will read: “Private Beach Property, beyond this sign, No Trespassing”
Next Board meeting scheduled for 7/11/15 @ 10:00am, beach cabana.
